It’s time to re-define realistic wellness.

Tired of the increasing BS in the wellness industry? Me too.

Hi, I’m Kelly! I’m not a wellness expert, or an influencer, and I promise I won’t try to sell you MLM products.

I’m a woman in my early 30s and I’ve dealt with chronic illness, pain, and burnout for as long as I can remember.

I have hypermobility (HSD), and ADHD (combined), which were both late-diagnosed, along with some weird long-standing post-Covid effects like silent reflux.

The ADHD and hypermobility diagnoses in particular changed a lot for me in my wellness journey – but before those diagnoses I was simply running in (exhausted) circles.

For most of my life, I thought wellness meant rigid routines—waking up at 5 AM, pushing through gym sessions, and eating picture-perfect meals. All I saw online was wellness gurus promising that perfect wellbeing was just one green juice or supplement away.

I believed that to be truly well, I had to meditate daily, avoid processed foods, and stay disciplined at all costs—and if I didn’t do exactly all of the above then I was a giant failure. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t keep up—and every time I fell short, I blamed myself.

Every time I started a new routine, I promised myself this would be the time I’d stick with it. And each time I failed, I fell into the same loop of frustration, hopelessness and self-loathing.

It took me years to realise that I wasn’t the problem—the wellness industry was.

I wanted someone to follow who was relatable and was still living a ‘normal’ life. I wanted a resource that could sift through all the noise and overwhelm of the wellness world and just give me the very bare basics. I didn’t need to hear about peptides, or GLP-1s, I just wanted to know where on earth to start.

Effortlessly Holistic was born because I craved a space where wellness felt achievable—somewhere that celebrates progress, not perfection. A space for women who want to be the best version of themselves but don’t feel they fit the “wellness aesthetic”. A space that acknowledges we’re all living different lives, and we don’t all have the same 24 hours in a day.

I want this blog to be a space where the goal isn’t a ‘perfect’ lifestyle, but one of joy and compassion. A space where women approach wellness from a place of self love, not self loathing, with the aim to nourish your wellbeing in some way, every day—and that some days it’s okay if all you do is survive.

Using the concept of the wellness wheel (top-level overview here, in-depth explanation here, this blog focuses on small actions to keep all areas of your wheel/wellbeing in balance, which in turn helps your life flow smoothly.

I don’t claim to have all the answers. I’m just a woman on her own realistic wellness journey, sharing what I’ve learned, what I love, what’s worked for me and what might work for you. Above all, I’m here to show you that genuine wellness can, and should, be easy.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the wellness world, or as if you don’t belong there, this blog is for you. Whether you’re starting from scratch or returning after a break, or simply looking for a supportive environment to grow in, you’re welcome here.

You’ll find realistic wellness routines that fit into your life—not the other way around. From journal prompts and guided meditations, to easy recipes and low-effort ways to move your body, to encouragement and affirmations to help you grow—whatever you’re looking for, I hope you’ll find it here.

Consider this your space to reset, recharge, and rebalance—one small step at a time. Let’s make wellness realistic together.
