Realistic wellness

your terms, your way

If you’re overwhelmed, intimidated or exhausted by the wellness industry, you’re not alone. I’ve spent most of my life feeling lost, burnt out, and defeated when it comes to health and fitness, battling with an all-or-nothing mindset, and feeling like I had to be doing crazy HIIT workouts multiple times a week in order to be fit. I’d go all in on a new routine or membership, only to inevitably burn out a couple of weeks later.

I thought that starting a healthy lifestyle meant I had to change everything at once, and that not being perfect every day meant I’d failed, which only led to disordered eating and a decline in my mental health.

When I was eventually diagnosed with hypermobility (HSD) and ADHD, I realised how connected the body and mind are. I learnt about the difference between wellness and wellbeing, and began to view wellness from a more holistic lens. I stopped viewing exercise and healthy food like a punishment, and reframed them as acts of self love.

Wellness isn’t about how you look, or how much you do. It’s about making choices that genuinely make your life better, not just busier.
